Man secretly records intimate moment and threatened to kill his ex girlfriend for postponing their wedding date

A man who secretly recorded an intimate moment with his ex-girlfriend and threatened to kill her for postponing their wedding date and was arrested was released on bail.

The incident happened on Wednesday June 26 when the suspect, HK, secretly recorded the moments of sexual intercourse with his ex-girlfriend because she postponed getting their wedding date in Lefkosia and then sent a threatening message to the 34-year-old woman saying, "Don't worry, I will take your life.

He was arrested and brought to the Lefkosia district court on Friday June 28.

Police told the court that the suspect sent a message to his ex-girlfriend named only as DN, saying "Don't worry, I will take your life", on the grounds that she postponed getting a date for their wedding.

He threatened to use violence, then sent a photo of a shotgun and threatened to use violence in order to intimidate her.

Police said the incident came to the attention of the police on Thursday June 27 and that on the same date, they determined that the suspect committed the crime of illegally carrying and possessing firearms by taking a hunting rifle registered in his name from his residence without permission from the district governor's office.

Police stated that the gun was taken as evidence and the suspect was arrested the same day because he was caught red-handed, and explained that the suspect violated the privacy of DN by recording her sexual intercourse in a car with a Go Pro device without her knowledge on May 30 in Gönyeli.

The police noted that the suspect gave a voluntary statement that was a confession and that a search was conducted at the suspect's residence between 7:45pm and 8:00pm, and a Go Pro was detected and taken as evidence.

Police said that the investigation was completed and requested that the suspect be released on bail as deemed appropriate by the court.

The judge released the suspect on bail on the condition that he is banned from going abroad until his trial and ordered him to deposits a cash guarantee of 60,000 TL, bring two reputable guarantors of TRNC citizens to sign a surety bond worth 750,000 TL, and that he presents proof of body to the nearest police station once a week.
