Hamas accepts UN ceasefire resolution, ready to negotiate

Hamas has accepted a UN Security Council ceasefire resolution and is prepared to negotiate the details, senior Hamas official Sami Abu Zuhri told Reuters on Tuesday. 

He emphasised that it is up to Washington to ensure Israel abides by the resolution.

“Hamas accepts the UN Security Council resolution regarding the ceasefire, withdrawal of Israeli troops, and exchange of hostages for detainees held by Israel,” Abu Zuhri stated.

He added, “The US administration faces a real test in fulfilling its commitments by compelling the occupation to immediately end the war in accordance with the UN Security Council resolution.
