Cyprus Met office issues warning for extreme heat on Friday with temperatures expected to reach 44 degrees

The Cyprus Department of Meteorology has issued a double warning for extreme heat this evening and tomorrow.

Maximum temperatures are expected to reach around 44 degrees Celsius inland and 34 degrees Celsius in the higher mountains.

A heatwave warning will be in effect from 11:00 AM to 5:00 PM on Friday, June 7.

A separate yellow warning is in effect for tonight, with temperatures expected to remain high, not falling below 27 degrees Celsius.

This warning is valid from midnight tonight until 7:00 AM tomorrow morning.
