17 people arrested in police raid on 3 separate flats in Safaköy: Two illegal residents
A large amount of smuggled products were seized and 17 people arrested as part of a large-scale investigation carried out in Safaköy, north Cyprus this month.
Police said it carried out a large-scale investigation regarding the "Home
Breaking" and "Theft" issues that occurred in Safaköy in June 2024.
A total of 660 illegal and undeclared mobile phones, 30 laptops and many computer speakers, various beverages and food products of Chinese origin, a total of 15,845 TL, 3,985 American Dollars, 5,615 Yuan Chinese currency, 30,000 Kyat Myanmar currency and 72 Ringgit Malaysian currency were found and taken as evidence as a
result of the search conducted in three separate apartments in
Safaköy;
According to the information provided by the police, a total of 17 people were identified as suspects in the investigation were arrested.
The suspects are; HM, 27, SW, 31, TL, 22, ZX, 24, JW, 35, GJ, 36, PZ, 22, JW, 27, WL, 25, WH, 32, XB 27, JL, 22, JH, 55, CX, 37, XG, 36, CX 38 and LX, 35.
During the immigration checks of the persons in question, it was determined that two of them were residing in the country without a residence permit.
The investigation continues.
