Two fisherman declared missing after failing to return

Two men who left for a fishing trip on Friday have not returned and have officially been declared as missing by the police.

Sıtkı Akargöl (35) and Emre Arslan (35), who live in Yeşilyurt, sailed from Fisherman’s Harbour in Kumyalı to go fishing on a boat named ‘Yeşilim’, at around 3pm on Friday, 10 May and have not been seen since.

The police reported that a search is underway for the two missing men.

On Friday, 10 May, the Met Office predicted near gale force winds lasting until the evening.
