Man stabs two security guards in north Cyprus for trying to evict him from the bar
A man who stabbed two security guards for ejecting him from an entertainment venue Lefkosia has been detained by the police.
The suspect, EK at around 3:00am on Saturday May 11 stabbed two security guards working at the Berlin Bar located in Lefkosia city center.
The suspect who was arrested was taken to the Lefkosia district court on Saturday charged with attempted murder, causing serious injury, serious damage, assault, illegal carrying of a knife and drunkenness.
Police told the court that the suspect EK was found to be under the influence of alcohol. Police also submitted a black-handled knife with a total length of 15 cm and a blade length of 6 cm, which he had illegally in his possession.
Police said he inflicted a cut on the right hand and left ribcage of one of the victim K.P., who worked as a security guard at the entertainment venue creating a 2 cm wide incision.
The police also told the court that following the incident, the suspect injured another victim Y.U., who was on duty at the same place, by stabbing his left shoulder, causing a cut of 7 cm wide and 2 cm deep.
Police stated that the suspect was arrested by the police teams who came to the scene and the knife he used in the incident was taken as evidence.
The police requested that the suspect be detained in the police for 3 days for investigation purposes, as there were many statements to be taken and camera footage to be examined within the scope of the investigation launched into the incident.
