Cyprus said it deported several illegal residents in May
Greek Cypriot police conducted a coordinated operation for the repatriation of foreigners who were residing illegally in Cyprus.
According to a statement, in cooperation with the FRONTEX Agency, several third-country nationals were repatriated on May 13, 2024, on a joint return flight carried out by the German authorities.
This is the 6th participation of Cyprus in FRONTEX joint operations for the year 2024.
It is noted that since the beginning of the year 4,241 persons, who were illegally residing in Cyprus, have left the country through forced and voluntary return procedures, compared to 3,263 persons in the same period last year.
Efforts by the Police and the Aliens and Immigration Service to maximize the number of returns continue.
