Two people caught with drugs and bullet in Kyrenia

Two suspect who were caught with drugs and bullets were arrested and detained by the police in Kyrenia on court order.

The suspects, BS, 19 and MSE, 23 both Turkish Cypriots were identified and arrested in Kyrenia on Tuesday in a raid by narcotics tagged "Poison Bag Operation".

Police said 395 whole and 21 half pills, 5 live gun bullets and 865 pounds sterling and 6,350 TL cash from drug sales were found and seized.

The suspects were bought to court on Wednesday.

Explaining the findings of the investigation in court, police said that the suspects were arrested and brought to court for the crimes of illegal import, delivery and disposal of ecstasy, and illegal explosive substance import, transportation and disposal.

Police said during the 'Poison Bag Operation' carried out by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams on Tuesday, the police found 395 whole and 21 pieces of various color patterns and sizes, as a result of searches carried out in the house of the suspect named BS between 7.40 pm and 10.15pm. 

Police said that 1 half pill (ecstasy), 5 live gun bullets and a total of 865 pounds sterling and 6,350 TL in cash, believed to have been obtained from drug sales, were detected and taken as evidence.

Police stated that the suspect named MSE, who was found to be connected to the crime, was also arrested.

The police stated that the drugs detected would be sent for analysis and that the investigation was continuing, and requested 2 days.
