Man arrested for growing weed at his residence in north Cyprus

A 47-year-old man who was found to be growing weeds at his residence in Boğaztepe village, north Cyprus has been arrested by the police.

The suspect, RS, 47 was arrested at his residence in Boğaztepe village on Monday, April, 22 during an operation carried out by the police.

Police said they found him red-handed while he was taking care of the plant, believed to be a type of jute, cultivated in a pot.

During a search of the vehicle used by the person in question, various materials used in plant care were detected and taken as evidence.

The police investigation continues.
