Man arrested for fraudulently obtaining money from several individuals to rent an apartment in Lefkosia and Kyrenia

A 29-year-old man has been arrested by police in north Cyprus for fraudulently obtaining money from several individuals in Lefkosia and Kyrenia to rent an apartment.

The suspect named only as H.Ş., 29 was arrested on Wednesday.

Police in a statement said the suspect fraudulently obtained 15,000 TL and 9,700 pounds in cash from four different people in Lefkosia and Kyrenia to rent an apartment.

The suspect, H.Ş. created a user account named "Girne Rental Houses" on the Facebook social networking platform in order to rent apartments in Lefkosia and Kyrenia between April 3-8.

He took photos and shared them on Facebook despite not having the authority to do so. 

The investigation into the incident continues.
