Foreign national dies after jumping off building balcony during police raid on illegal migrants in Limassol south Cyprus

A foreign nation who was living in south Cyprus illegally died this morning, following a police raid on an apartment on the fifth floor of a building in Limassol.

According to reports, Greek Cypriot police raided the apartment to check for the occupants’ residence status. Under circumstances that are currently under investigation, two men, both foreign nationals, attempted to escape.

One man jumped from a bedroom window, resulting in him falling onto the balcony of another apartment, leading to his death.

The other man jumped from the apartment balcony and landed on the balcony of another apartment, leading to severe injuries.

The scene, which was cordoned off, was visited by officers and members of the Limassol Crime Investigation Department (CID) for on-site examinations.

The injured person was transported by ambulance to the hospital.
