Cost of living in north Cyprus up by over 90% compared to March, 2023
The cost of living for the month of March in north Cyprus has been announced as 6.91 per cent.
According to the institute’s monthly report, the cost of living went up by 94.45 per cent compared to the same month last year.
In terms of main expenditure groups, the highest increases in prices compared to the previous month was seen in the clothing and footwear group with a 18.90 per cent; furniture, household appliances and home care services with 12.61 per cent, entertainment and culture with 10.70 per cent, housing, water, electricity, gas and other fuels with 9.08 per cent, communication with 6.51 per cent, restaurants and hotels with 6.31 per cent, miscellaneous goods and services with 6.25 per cent, health with 6.11 per cent, transportation with 5.61 per cent, food and non-alcoholic beverages with 3.37 per cent, alcoholic beverages and tobacco with 2.93 per cent, education with 2.52 per cent.
The first three goods with the highest price increases were DVD Players with 200.33 per cent, football match entrance fee with 123.61 per cent and melons with 123.11 per cent.
The first three goods with the highest price decrease are zucchini
with 56.19 per cent, fresh broad beans with 44.74 per cent and
strawberries with 32.43 per cent.
