Avoid suspicious SMS links: Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union warns
The Cyprus Turkish Secondary Education Teachers’ Union (KTOEÖS) posted an announcement on its social media account warning anyone receiving an SMS purporting to be from KTOEÖS, not to click on the link.
In the statement from the union, it was pointed out that SMS messages sent on behalf of KTOEÖS contained links with unspecified content, and steps were taken regarding this issue, but it was emphasised that these links should not be opened.
The full statement from KTOEÖS is as follows:
“We have received information from some teacher colleagues and parents that SMS messages containing links from institutions such as KTOEOS and the Ministry of Interior, which we believe may harbour viruses, have been received. As a union, we have contacted the institution we collaborate with for SMS messages and requested an investigation. Please do not click on links in such SMS messages, regardless of the source. Clicking may result in viruses or derivatives, unwanted software being installed on your phone, leading to various issues“.
