Taxi driver beat passenger in Kyrenia over fare

A Turkish Cypriot taxi driver was arrested and detained for beating a passenger in Kyrenia following an argument over transport fare.

The incident happened on Monday in Kyrenia when the taxi driver named only as BK, 34 got into an argument with his passenger, KK, 39 who he given a ride.

A fight broke out following an argument between them over taxi fare.

The taxi driver reportedly pushed KK which made him fall to the ground, then hit him in the throat and chest, and broke his mobile phone. 

They were both arrested and legal action was initiated against them.
