North Cyprus authorities declared 14 people banned immigrants, 10 among them Nigerians for cult activities
The government of the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus has declared 14 people, 10 among them Nigerians as banned immigrants in the country.
The decision by the TRNC Council of Ministers was published in the Official Gazette on Friday, March, 1, 2024. The decision declared a total of 14 people as prohibited immigrants, 10 of whom are Nigerians and two of whom were gang members.
According to the Council of Ministers, 6 of them who are Nigerians acts in a way that endangers the administrative order or public morality, arouses hostility among the people of the TRNC and against the state, or opposes the authority and power of the state.
The other two were banned from the country for the sake of public interest and security, as they were members of the "Bucaneers" gang.
Five others, two among them Nigerians, one an Iranian, were declared prohibited immigrants because they were likely to incite hostility towards the state or intrigue against the authority and power of the state.
Two others were declared prohibited Immigrant in pursuant to Article 7 of Chapter 105 Aliens and Immigration Law."
