Minor earthquake detected off the coast of Lefke, north Cyprus
A minor earthquake was detected off the coast of Lefke, north Cyprus on Friday morning.
According to the north Cyprus’s met office, the earthquake measured 3.6 on the Richter scale and was recorded at 8.48am.
It occurred 148 kilometres away from Lefka at a depth of 38 kilometres.
As a result of the department's initial evaluations, it was determined that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the sea, in the northwest of Cyprus, at a depth of approximately 38 kilometers, at the coordinates of 35.49 north and 31.28 east.
