Man punches a driver in the face in north Cyprus for driving a car with the ‘headlights too bright’
A drunk driver punched another driver in the face for making his car lights too bright after they got into a fight on the road between Ercan airport and Iskele in north Cyprus on Monday morning.
The incident happened at around 1:00am on Monday, March, 11 on the main road between Ercan airport and Iskele when a man was punched in the face for driving with headlights which were “too bright”.
The man, aged 33, had been driving on the main road when the car in front of him, being driven by a 50-year-old man, pulled off the road near the village of Limitüstü-Altınova.
When both cars had pulled over, the 50-year-old remonstrated with the 33-year-old, saying the latter’s headlights were too bright and were hurting his eyes.
The 33-year-old then attempted to leave the scene, at which point the 50-year-old allegedly swore at him and punched him in the face, causing a cut on his left eyebrow.
He was arrested for serious assault, causing injury, using fowl language and found to be over the legal alcohol limit to drive.
The police investigation into the matter is ongoing.
