Finland tops World Happiness Report, Turkiye moves up but Cyprus and Greece drops lower
The list of World Happiest countries is out, and once again Nordic countries are topping the list!
In the annual World Happiness Report, according to a survey of 143 countries conducted by the UN Sustainable Development Solutions Network, the No. 1 country, Finland, has held onto this position for seven years straight while Afghanistan remains in last place.
Scandinavian countries continue to dominate the top of the rankings,
with Denmark, Iceland, and Sweden following closely behind Finland.
But the US and other countries dropping in rank was also because other nations – especially several in Eastern Europe – had welcome gains in happiness.
Cyprus fell from 46th to 50th place, Turkiye is 98 from 106 place and Greece is 64, down from 58.
The report, which has been published since 2012, also found that Greece has fallen six places from 58th to 64th place this year.
This year’s report is the first to include separate data for different age groups, and it brings bad news about how satisfied young people are with their lives in some parts of the world.
