12 universities to be closed in north Cyprus: Minister of Education
The TRNC Minister of Education has said that 12 universities who got permission to operate but did not operate for two years will be closed.
The TRNC Minister of National Education Nazım Çavuşoğlu make the statement in parliament on Tuesday, March, 19.
Nazim who was responding to a speech by a Republican Turkish Party (CTP )
Deputy stated that he said
he would close 12 universities and explained the reason in his previous
speech.
Pointing out that university preliminary permits are
canceled if education is not started for 2 years, Çavuşoğlu stated that
they are waiting for an opinion from the prosecutor's office on whether
they should write a letter on this issue. Çavuşoğlu noted that in any
case, these 12 universities are null and void for them.
