Turkish Cypriot man pushes mother to the floor causing her to break her nose

A man in Lefkosia north Cyprus injured hi mother when he pushed her to the ground during an argument over television.

The suspect, OT, a Turkish Cypriot who lives in the Ortaköy district of Lefkosia with his 76-year-old mother was arrested and detained on Wednesday for causing an injury to his mother.

Police in court statement said the suspect pushed his 76-year-old mother, with whom she had an argument about "who will watch TV" in the kitchen of the house.

She fell to the ground and broke her nasal bone.

She went to the the Lefkosia State Hospital on the same day and a report was received that her nasal bone was broken.

Police stated that the woman's statement was taken on the same day and she made a complaint against her son but withdrew her complaint by giving additional statement a short time later.

Police said that the investigation was completed, and requested that he be sent to prison.

The judge ordered the suspect to be sent to prison for a period not to exceed 15 days.
