Police detects drugs in vehicles of student during traffic inspections
Four foreign nationals who were found with drugs in their vehicle during police check in Güzelyurt were found to be living in north Cyprus without a resident permit.
The suspects, NOİ, AMİ.B., BMHM and AFHO, all Africans were arrested by Turkish Cypriot police at around 4:40pm on Friday during police inspection in front of Manisa Boulevard 2. Selim Dormitories in Güzelyurt.
They were taken to court on Saturday.
Police said a substance believed to be drugs were found in their vehicle after it was stopped for traffic control purposes.
Police said they found a substance believed to be a Synthetic Cannabinoid type drug weighing approximately 100 milligrams, wrapped in transparent tape and a piece of yellow paper, was found under the driver's seat during the search.
The substances were taken as evidence.
Police said the substance in question would be sent for analysis and the status of the suspects in the country would be investigated.
They were detained in police custody for 3 days for investigation purposes.
