Our country almost belonged to foreigners who are more than Turks: TRNC member of parliament

"What are so many third nationals doing in our country? Our country almost belonged to foreigners said TRNC member of parliament who said that there are more foreigners than Turks in the TRNC.

İzlem Gürçağ Altuğra, National Unity Party (UBP) Member of Parliament and former TRNC health minister made the remarks on Wednesday while speaking on a TV program.

İzlem said, "Our country almost belonged to foreigners. The irregularities in land sales made us foreigners. If there are more third nationalities than Turks, of course we need to question this. There are more foreigners than Turks... TRNC is a handful of land, we can turn it into paradise."

She stated that the trust in politics has accumulated to these days, and that dignity and respect in villages and cafes have ended. “We cannot be at the point of being self-centered, this is from me, let him stay at home and work for me. "Then we will harm both the people and politics," she said.

“We were in primary school in UBP in the early 80s, but our archive information tells us that I miss the politics of that period and the nobility of that period. Respect is an important thing, not an unimportant thing. The villagers were respectful when going to coffeehouses. This was not allegiance. There was a reward for the service provided to the public; I can't see this today. People are also right... Our move away from merit and justice... This happened not in a month or two, but over a long period of time... It is a process that is slowly being lost, distrust in politics..." she said.
