Man go on shopping spree with stolen ATM card

A man person who stole someone else's credit cards and money from a hotel room in Kyrenia and then spent money with the stolen card was arrested.

The incident happened in a Kyrenia hotel between 17-18, August, 2023.

Police in a statement on Sunday, said after stealing the credit cards and $10,000 cash belonging to a person staying in a hotel room operating in Kyrenia, the suspect went on a shopping spree with the card where he spent a total of 26,262 GBP from the credit cards.

In the further investigation carried out after the incident came to the notice of the police, the suspect named only as BAH, 62, who was considered the suspect in the matter, was identified and arrested.

During immigration control, it was also determined that he was residing in the country without a residence permit.
