Two men held in custody for stealing from a public bus in Lefkosia found not guilty
Two men who were arrested by police in North Cyprus for allegedly stealing money from a parked bus in Lefkosia has been released after they were found not guilty.
Police
said the theft took place between the hours of 4:45am to 7:40am on
Sunday, Dec., 31, 2023 when 2,700 TL and two mobile phones were stolen from a minibus parked at Kyrenia Gate Bus stops at
the Lefkosia City center.
The suspects, E.C and M.D.A., were arrested on Saturday, Jan., 6 in connection with the incident and were taken to court on charges of theft.
They were sent to prison for a period of two days for investigation to be carried out on the matter.
They were brought back to court again on Wednesday following their two days of detention.
Police told the court that after investigation was carried out on them, it was determined that they were innocent of the charges bought against them.
