Three Turkish Cypriot men arrested for shooting into the sky on New Year’s Eve in north Cyprus
Three men were arrested and taken to court by Turkish Cypriot police on Tuesday for shooting into the sky on New Year’s Eve.
The incident happened in Gonyeli at around 11:55pm on the night of Sunday, Dec., 31 when they shoot into the sky with rifles.
The trio were arrested by police who saw them firing their rifles into the sky.
They were taken to a court in Lefkosia on Tuesday, charged with illegally carrying, using and
discharging firearms, and shooting firearms in a residential area.
Police said they found three rifles and 84 cartridges, 49 of which were empty, on the men.
They were each released on a 15,000TL bail, with each required to find two guarantors to sign a bond of 200,000TL.
