Super market thieves destroyed camera recordings to conceal their crime

Two men who robbed a place of work in Lefkosia and stole huge amount of money, destroyed camera recordings to conceal their crime.

The robbery incident took place at around 3:50am on Tuesday, January, 8, at Sülkem Simit Evi operating in Lefkosia.

The suspects, E.Ü., 24 and B.D., 16 were both identified and arrested on January 9, 2024. They were taken to court on the same day on charges of theft.

Police explained that the suspects on the night of the robbery entered the Sülkem Simit Evi, through the window and stole 12,000 TL from the cash register and caused a damage of 2,000TL to a camera recorder worth 5,000 TL after entering the room.

The suspects were identified and captured thanks to the camera footage examined.

Noting that the investigation was continuing and that there were statements to be taken, the police requested that the suspects be detained for 3 days.
