Snow expected in north Cyprus next week

The north Cyprus Meteorology Department has announced that sleet is expected in the mountainous areas on Monday, and snowfall is expected in the high areas on Tuesday and Wednesday next week.

According to the latest forecasts of the Meteorology Department covering the period between January 27 and February 2, the region will generally be under the influence of a low pressure system and a cold and humid air mass on the first two days of the period, and on the other days.                  

The weather will be partly cloudy on Saturday, slightly cloudy on Sunday, partly cloudy over time, with showers in the afternoon, partly cloudy and showery on Monday, late at night with sleet in the mountainous areas, partly cloudy with showers on Tuesday and Wednesday there will be snow in the higher areas. The other days will be partly cloudy.

The highest temperature will be around 13-16 degrees in the inland areas and on the coast in the first two days of the period, and around 9-12 degrees on the other days.

The wind will generally blow from the northerly direction, moderately strong and occasionally strong and stormy.
