Six Turkish students arrested for falsifying health document for the purpose of obtaining north Cyprus' resident permit
Six Turkish students who falsified a health report they obtained from hospitals in Turkey and used same to apply for resident permit in north Cyprus will face trial in court.
The students named only as; A.Ş., FD., AY, MB, BG and SA, reportedly entered the immigration system in the north of Cyprus and obtained a residence permit by forging the health reports they obtained from hospitals in Turkey.
They were arrested and taken to a court in North Cyprus on Friday, Jan., 6.
Police officer who testified in court said the suspects transferred the medical reports they obtained from hospitals in Turkey in December 2023 to the immigration system after falsifying the documents by changing the dates, and updated them with a program on their mobile phones.Police said the suspect A.Ş. had forged a medical report for his friend in Turkey and entered it into the immigration system.
Police explained that the suspect BG converted SA's medical report from Turkey into PDF format, and SA changed the dates and uploaded it in the immigration system.
Police said messages related to the report were detected in the examination of the mobile phones of the two suspects.
Police requested that the suspects, A.Ş., FD, AY and MB be released on bail and the other 2 suspects be detained for 3 days.
The judge ordered that 2 of the 6 suspects, all university students, be detained for 3 days.
The suspects, Aş., FD and MB were released on bail and will be tried in the future, on the condition that they each deposit a cash guarantee of 20,000 TL and that a guarantor signs a surety bond of 250,000 TL each.
The suspect AY was also released on bail and will be tried in the future, on the condition that he deposit a cash guarantee of 30,000 TL and that a guarantor signs a surety bond of 250,000 TL
