Man steals huge amount of money from parked vehicle in Famagusta, north Cyprus
Turkish Cypriot police said it identified and arrested a person who stole a large amount of money from a parked vehicle in Famagusta on Monday.
Police said between the hours of 8.30 and 9.25am on Monday, Jan., 8, 700 dollars, 1300 euros, 14,000 TL cash and two items kept in a bag were stolen from a vehicle belonging to a person parked on Remzi Breast Street, Karakol District, Famagusta. ID card, driving license and credit card were also stolen.
The suspect H.A., 33 was identified and arrested. During a search carried out on him at the hotel where he was staying, a substance believed to contain synthetic cannabinoid type drugs was found.
A total of 17,700 TL, 27 dollars and 5 Stg cash was found.
He had various shoes and clothes worth 16,350 TL and 50 krş (equivalent to 550 euros), which he bought from a store with unidentified pieces of paper and the money he stole. They were taken as evidence.
During the search around the crime scene, the bag in which the stolen money was kept, as well as ID, credit cards and driving license were found and taken as evidence.
The investigation continues.
