Man die in fatal accident on Ercan Airport road in north Cyprus

A 25-year-old Turkish Cypriot man died in an accident that occurred on the Yonca Junction - Ercan highway on Sunday evening.

The terrible accident occurred at around 6:00pm on Sunday, January 28 at the 3rd kilometer of the Yonca Junction - Ercan road.

The accident victim, Çağrı Miralay was on his way to Ercan Airport when the accident happened.

Police said the accident occurred when one Mustafa Kaya, 55 carelessly entered the main road from an unnamed secondary road on the left of the road with his van vehicle and collided with Çağrı Miralay blocking its path.

Due to the impact of the collision, Çağrı Miralay's vehicle left the left side of the road and crashed into some trees and stopped. 

Çağrı Miralay, died at the scene.

Mustafa Kaya, was arrested. The police investigation continues.
