Lightning struck Turkish Airline plane flying from Istanbul to Antalya
The Turkish Airlines' (THY) flight number TK-2408, with TC-JHK tail registration, took off from Istanbul Airport at 9.25am on Monday, January 29 to fly to Antalya.
The plane was struck by lightning shortly after takeoff.
The pilot of the plane contacted the Istanbul Airport Air Traffic Control Center and informed that he would turn back.
The plane landed smoothly at Istanbul Airport at 10.16. The aircraft was examined by the technical team.
