Drunk driver involved in an accident in north Cyprus given massive bail condition
A drunk driver who was involved in an accident on the Lefkosia-Guzelyurt Main Road, north Cyprus on Tuesday will face trial in court.
The suspect, MH, a Turkmenistan national was involved in an accident at around 7:30pm on Tuesday, January, 30 on the Lefkosia-Guzelyurt road.
Police said he was under the influence of alcohol when he crashed into the rear of a vehicle driven by one Cansev Taşkaya, 58 while driving towards Güzelyurt, near the Alayköy Industrial Zone.
Police said he dragged the other vehicle, hit the median, left the road and overturned on its right side.Both drivers who were injured in the accident were taken to the Lefkosia State Hospital and were discharged after treatment
The suspect was arrested after he was discharged.
Police stated that the accident caused a 150,000 TL damage to the other vehicle.
Noting that the investigation was completed, police requested that the suspect be placed on an appropriate guarantee.
The judge who evaluated the case, ordered the suspect to be released on bail on the condition that he pay a cash guarantee of 20,000 TL and bring two guarantors sign a surety bond of 300,000 TL each.
