Cost of living goes up by 5.44% in North Cyprus
The cost of living in the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) spiked by 5.44 per cent compared to the previous month.
The Statistics Institute announced on Thursday the inflation rate for 2023 is 83.63 per cent.
It was noted that the highest increase in the main expenditure groups compared to the previous month was recorded in dining and hotel accommodations with a 15.10 per cent increase.
There was also an increase in the price of 557 items and a decrease in the prices of 33 items compared to the previous month.
Accordingly, the first three goods with the highest price increase were zucchini at 260.58 per cent, cucumber at 137.98 per cent and eggplant at 106.56 per cent.
The first three goods with the highest price decrease were cauliflower with 65.35 per cent, white cabbage with 34.14 per cent and lemon with 23.15 per cent.
