African arrested for not having residence permit in south Cyprus after accident
According to report, the accident involving two drivers, an African, 44 and a Greek man, 53 happened on the central avenue of Peyia on Monday evening.
The incident involved a head-on collision between two vehicles, one
driven by the Greek national and the other by an African. The two drivers were seriously
injured in the accident.
Initial reports from the scene indicate that the vehicle driven by the African veered into oncoming traffic, directly impacting the path of the Greek national’s car.
Both drivers were transferred to Paphos General Hospital. Despite the seriousness of their conditions, doctors say that they are out of life-threatening danger.
The African driver was arrest following the collision, as he was found to be residing in Cyprus illegally.
Traffic police are investigating the causes of the collision.
