Three people arrested in drug operation in Hamitkoy, north Cyprus

Turkish Cypriot police on Saturday arrested three people for drug offenses.

The three were identified and arrested in an operation tagged "Operation Narco Power-2023" organized by the Narcotics and Smuggling Prevention Directorate teams.

A substance believed to be a cannabis type drug and 5,000TL in cash.

According to police statement, the raid was carried out at around 6.00pm on Saturday in Hamitköy.

Packages ready for sale were found in the possession of one OKO, 25.

A substance believed to be hemp-type drug weighing approximately 30 grams and 5,000 TL in cash believed to be obtained from drug sales were found. Also, approximately 1,800 grams of substance believed to be cannabis-type drug and 5,000 TL cash believed to be drug residue were found on them in the search carried out at his residence in Gönyeli. Three sensitive scales were found and taken as evidence.

Two other suspects, AM, 23 and MCA, 21, who were found to be connected to OKO and the issue, were arrested.
