Teenage asylum seeker arrested for rape of 80-year-old woman in Cyprus

Greek Cypriot police said it arrested a teenage asylum seeker who was reported for raping an 80-years old tourist in Ayia Napa, Cyprus.

The incident was reported on Monday by Greek Cypriot police.

According to report, a teenager has been arrested after an 80-year-old visitor to Ayia Napa reported she had been raped.

According to police sources, the woman is a tourist visiting Cyprus, and she reported the incident to police on Thursday last week.

A 17-year-old asylum seeker was arrested after the complaint and was remanded on Sunday for six days.

Police said DNA tests are still pending.
