Student caught with drugs in Lefkosia

A student who was caught with 50 grams of drugs in his apartment in Lefkosia was detained in prison for one day. 

The suspect, with the initials CFE was arrested on Wednesday, Dec., 6 following a raid by the police and narcotics and Smuggling teams between the hours of 3:30-4:30pm on his residence in Lefkosia.

He was reportedly found with 25 grams of a drug, believed to be jute, weighing 50 grams in total, which was found in 23 separate bags ready for sale in his bedroom and 25 grams in a separate place. 

He was brought before the Lefkosia District Court on Thursday on the charge of "Illegal taking, giving and possessing drugs".

Police said that they would investigate who the suspect bought the drugs from and that the investigation was continuing in many aspects, and requested that he be detained for one day.
