Man embezzles over 130 thousand TL from pharmaceutical warehouse in Kyrenia, North Cyprus

An employee working with a pharmaceutical warehouse in Kyrenia, north Cyprus has been accused of embezzling a large amount of company money using fake invoices.

The employee named only as A.D, 49, a Turkish national committed the crime between August, 20, 2012 to June, 1, 2023.

Police said the suspect prepared a total of 178 fake items for various pharmaceutical and cosmetic products belonging to the company.

By presenting the invoices to the company's warehouse manager and putting them into circulation, he stole the products worth 138,418.02 TL specified in the said invoices from the warehouse and embezzled them, and also collected a total of 405 items from customers in return for the sales he made on behalf of the company to businesses operating throughout the country. 

It was determined that he stole 1,334.74 TL by not submitting it to the company's accounting office and by embezzling it.

The person in question was arrested. The investigation continues.
