Man arrested for performing illegal plastic surgery in north Cyprus
A person who performed plastic surgery in North Cyprus without the necessary qualification has been arrested by Turkish Cypriot police.
The Turkish Cypriot Medical Association (KTTB) on Monday announced that a person used several materials to intervene in medical situations like fillers, botox and mesotherapy was arrested in his own house in Alsancak.
In the statement signed by the Board of Directors of the Medical Association, it was emphasized that it is against the law for physicians or non-physicians who are not members of the KTTB to perform medical aesthetic procedures, and it was noted that this crime carries a penalty of 3 minimum wage or 3 years in prison.
The statement, it was stated that "Illegal medical intervention is a public health problem due to the safety of the materials used and the inadequacy of the person performing the intervention." It was announced that the Medical Association will continue operations in cooperation with the police to protect the profession and the health of the public.
