Man almost drown at sea in North Cyprus on Thursday
A young man was rescued from drowning while swimming at a public beach in North Cyprus early Thursday morning.
The swimmer, 25-year-old Yakup Enes Karagöz was at the Yeniboğaziçi Public Beach swimming at around 7:30am on Thursday when he was caught in the waves and was at the danger of drowning.
He was rescued by a person in the area and brought ashore.
He was taken first to Famagusta State Hospital and then to Lefkcosia state hospital where he was kept under observation in the Neurology Service.
Police launched an investigation into the incident.
