Major rocket attack in Tel Aviv by Hamas
A barrage of rockets was launched by Hamas in Tel Aviv on Saturday
night, with the Al Qassam Brigades announcing that it was in response to
Israel’s ongoing war in the Gaza Strip.
The attack activated the Israeli armed forces’ Iron Dome anti-missile system. So far one 22-year-old was reported injured in the Hamas attack in Holon, a Tel Aviv suburb.
Saleh Al Aruri, a leading Hamas leader, announced on Saturday via Al Jazeera that there will be no further exchanges of Israeli hostages for Palestinian prisoners unless there is a complete ceasefire and the release of all Palestinian prisoners.
After the collapse of talks with Hamas in Qatar to extend the ceasefire, Israel threatened to expand the war in southern Gaza. Any ground offensive in southern Gaza, which the Israeli media expect, would represent a significant escalation of the war.
