Over 200 illegal migrants deported from Cyprus in the last few weeks
A total of 233 people were deported from Cyprus (south) over the past weeks,
for residing illegally in the island, Greek Cypriot police announced.
As part of the police’s efforts to return third-country nationals to their countries of origin, a total of 233 persons were deported between Nov. 18-25.
The total number of people deported this year so far is 8,618.
On Saturday, ten persons who were illegally residing in Cyprus were deported, by forced return of FRONTEX. This is the 13th participation of the Cyprus Police in such operations, while the participation of Cyprus in two more operations is expected by the end of the year.
The efforts of the police and the civil registry and migration service to maximize the number of returns continues.
