4.8 magnitude earthquake in Hatay, Turkiye
A 4.8-magnitude earthquake has occurred in the Turkish province of Hatay, in southern Turkiye on Thursday Turkish the Agency for Disaster Management and Emergency Situations (AFAD) says.
The earthquake occurred at around 5:32am on Thursday in Hatay, Turkiye.
AFAD said in a statement that the epicenter of the earthquake was in the city of Kirikhan, at a depth of 8.28 kilometers.
There have been no reports of material damage or human loss.
A violent earthquake measuring 7.7 on the Richter scale struck
southern Turkiye and northern Syria on Feb. 6, followed by another
7.6-magnitude quake and thousands of violent aftershocks, which resulted
in tens of thousands of victims and caused massive damage and
destruction to buildings and property in both countries.
