Chelsea monitor Aaron Ramsdale transfer, four Manchester United players in bust-up after Brighton defeat
Bayern
Munich and Chelsea are keeping tabs on Aaron Ramsdale’s situation at
Arsenal after Mikel Arteta dropped the goalkeeper in favour of David
Raya on Sunday, the Daily Mail reports. Raya made his Arsenal debut in
the 1-0 win at Everton, with the decision raising questions about
Arteta’s long-term plans for both goalkeepers. Upon signing Raya, Arteta
had stressed he does not have a number one in any position.
The Mail adds:
“Nevertheless, Ramsdale’s situation is already interesting a number of
teams, with Chelsea and Bayern Munich among those understood to be
keeping abreast of developments amid a sense that Raya was likely to
overtake the England international at some stage this season following
his initial loan arrival from Brentford.
“Chelsea
signed Robert Sanchez from Brighton in the summer but remain open to
strengthening their goalkeeping options while it is no secret that
Bayern are looking for a long-term successor to Manuel Neuer - who turns
38 in March.”
Man Utd’s four-man bust-up
Four
Manchester United players were involved in a “bust-up” after the home
defeat to Brighton on Saturday, The Sun reports. A 3-1 loss added to Ten
Hag’s woes at United, and amid Gary Neville’s claim there could be
“bugs” creating “discomfort” inside the dressing room, a furious
confrontation is said to have broken out at Old Trafford.
The Sun writes:
“SunSport can reveal captain Bruno Fernandes confronted fellow
midfielder Scott McTominay after United’s third defeat in four games. “While
centre-back pairing Lisandro Martinez and Victor Lindelof also lost it
with each other following a calamitous defensive display.”
Man Utd’s Ten Hag agents concerns
Members
of staff at Manchester United are concerned with the growing influence
of Erik ten Hag’s agent Kees Vos, the Daily Mail adds. Vos’ Sport
Entertainment Group are said to have the become the go-to agency for
transfers at United, with other agents also said to be unhappy.
The Mail adds:
“SEG worked on player sales and signings during a busy window which saw
United spend £178million on four new arrivals, with Vos a regular
visitor to Old Trafford and the club’s Carrington training ground. Their
work included:
"Representing
Rasmus Hojlund during his £72m move from Atalanta, with the Danish
striker joining the company the month before signing for United.
"Acting
for United in negotiations over the loan signing of Sofyan Amrabat from
Fiorentina in a deal which gives them the option to sign the Moroccan
international permanently at the end of the season.
"Selling
United midfield player Zidane Iqbal to Utrecht in June just two months
after the 20-year-old had joined the agency from rivals CAA Base.”
Arsenal want ‘new Bellingham’
Arsenal
are considering a move for English teenage star Jamie Bynoe-Gittens,
The Sun reports. Bynoe-Gittens, 18, left Manchester City for Borussia
Dortmund in 2020 and has been compared to Jude Bellingham after making
his breakthrough with the German side in 2021-22.
The Sun adds:
“Since then, he has racked up 25 appearances for the German giants,
contributing three goals and one assist. Left winger Bynoe-Gittens also
earned his first cap for England's U21s last week, assisting Cole
Palmer's strike in a 3-0 win over Luxembourg.”
