“Eris variant of Covid 19 not seen in northern Cyprus”

The TRNC Ministry of Health has announced that the Eris variant of Covid 19 which was recently found in south Cyprus has not be detected in the TRNC.

Speaking to TAK, the Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Dr. Deren Oygar said, “We follow the variants."

The examinations in the last week will be done in 1-2 days," he said. “Even though the Eris variant is seen, the measures will be the same.  

The virus is weakening. No need to panic. No increase in hospitalizations. We are following it,” he said.
