Holiday makers lit a barbecue in the turtle spawning area despite government warning

Despite warning by the government banning residents and fun seekers from lighting fire in forest areas, a group of holiday makers were sighted lighting a fire for barbecue on a beach in Mersinlik, north Cyprus.
According to the report by local daily, Yeniduzen, a group of holiday were sighted on the Mersinlik coast, setting up tents and lit a fire in the turtle spawning area, this despite the warning that it is forbidden to light a fire in the region.
Apparently, those who lit the barbecue did not heed the reaction of those on the beach.
A photo sent today by a YENİDÜZEN reader, show the holidaymakers set up tents and barbecue in the turtle spawning area.
