TRNC police issues warning: “Seat belt saves lives”

The TRNC General Directorate of Police has emphasized the importance of wearing seat belts in motor vehicles.

The General Directorate of Police in a statement on Tuesday pointed out that the seat belt saves lives in minor accidents as well as in accidents with serious injuries.

The Police also stated that it is forbidden to transport children under the age of 3 in motor vehicles without child car seats.

The statement emphasized that everyone traveling in motor vehicles must wear a seat belt, and the following information about children was reminded:

“Children shorter than 150 cm in height are not allowed to sit in the front seat of motor vehicles. Children between 135-150 cm in height must sit in the back seat of motor vehicles and wear seat belts, and children shorter than 135 cm in height must sit in the child car seat to be mounted on the rear seat of the vehicle and wear a seat belt.

The police statement wished everyone a safe and accident-free holiday.
