The price of bread set to increase due to the depreciation of the Turkish lira
It has revealed that the price of bread (Ekmek) is about to be increased.
According to a report by Yeniduzen on Tuesday, the president of the Bakers Union, Omer Cirali said that the costs of production has increased due to the increase in foreign exchange.
A hike is inevitable, Omer Cirali said sating that the fighure in not clear yet but that there is an expectation that a 20-25% increase will be made.
A loaf of ekmek bread is currently sold for 8 TL.
