President Erdogan to visit the TRNC on Monday
Turkish President, Tayyip Erdogan will visit the Turkish Republic of Northern Cyprus (TRNC) on Monday next week, his first visit since his re-election in May.
According to reports by Kibris, Erdogan will be visiting for one day on Monday, June, 12, following a tour in Azerbaijan on the same day.
Erdogan had been expected to visit the TRNC in April to inaugurate the new Ercan airport terminal which was postponed due to unfinished work.
According to the TRNC transport minister, Erhan Arikli the inauguration of the new terminal was meant to take place after Ramadan celebrations.
Arikli blamed some of the works not being completed on the issue of electric company Kib-tek workers, part of the union El-Sen, striking at the time.
The project had been ongoing for the past ten years since 2013.
