Man falls to his death from a five storey balcony in Lefkosia

A man fell to his death while climbing from a corridor window onto the balcony of his 5th floor of a Lefkosia apartment in the early hours of Friday.

The incident happened at around 2:00am on Friday, June, 2.

According to police report on the incident, 30-year-old Plangji Yilyov Balkum, who had misplaced his apartment key decided to gain entrance into the department through the window of the balcony.

He fell 18 metres to the ground after he lost his balance while trying to access his apartment by climbing through the corridor window in an attempt to climb onto the balcony of his apartment.

He died on the spot.

A police investigation into the incident has begun.
